OUR SERVICES
DENTAL CARE
Cosmetic Fillings

It is almost certain everyone will have to deal with the most basic of dental maladies-cavities. Since they are such a common issue, dental technology is quite advanced in dealing with these unwanted enamel intrusions. We use the strongest and most cosmetic restorative materials so that we can preserve as much of the natural, healthy tooth structure as possible.

Crowns

A crown is a dental “cap” that covers a damaged tooth, restoring not just the appearance but also improving strength and functionality. They can be formed to be indistinguishable from any other tooth and can even improve one’s quality of life and self-confidence. Cemented permanently in place, a crown can then be cared for and maintained as easily as a regular tooth. We are committed to using only the best materials available to ensure strength, beauty, and longevity.

Bridges

A bridge may be recommended if you are missing one or more teeth. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite. The imbalance caused by missing teeth can also lead to jaw/joint dysfunction and can also affect the supporting bone and gum tissues. Bridges can be made from porcelain, gold, alloys, or a combination of these and are attached to surrounding teeth for support.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into the jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are great options for people who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason. The ideal candidate for a dental implant is in good general and oral health. Adequate bone in the jaw is needed to support the implant and the best candidates have healthy gums that are free of disease. Your dentist can assess your individual situation to help determine if a dental implant is the best option for you.

Partial and Complete Dentures

Although the maintenance and preservation of all natural teeth is the goal for all our patients, in some instances multiple teeth or all the natural teeth require removal. In such cases, our team can help to restore your dentition to a natural-looking and functional state that you may not have ever thought possible. There are many choices that are customizable to your needs.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is an important part of your dentist’ arsenal to help you save your natural tooth in instances where the tooth may be badly decayed, fractured, or may have suffered nerve damage from trauma. Our treatment methods are state-of-the-art to help ensure that each root canal treatment is efficient and successful.

Bite Guards/ Occlusal Guards

Oftentimes clenching and grinding habits can cause severe wear, premature fractures in teeth, and also joint dysfunction which can lead to facial pain, head and neck pain, and in some cases migraines. Occlusal or bite guards can be very effective in tooth protection and in alleviating symptoms caused by these habits. Your dentist will help determine what type may be best for you.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers or laminates are wafer thin, custom made “shells” of tooth colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. They are bonded to the front of the teeth and are capable of enhancing their color, shape, and size. Your dentist will work with you to design your custom veneers to give you a beautiful smile to be envied!

PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY

Keep your smile healthy and happy
Preventive dentistry emphasizes the importance of regular dental visits and daily practices to prevent tooth decay, other dental diseases and conditions.  Effective preventive dentistry combines at home care by patients with chairside treatments and counseling by our dental professionals.  Our dental team will help to decide the preventive measures for your dental needs.  Early detection is key to help patients minimize treatment and save teeth.

Oral Cancer Screening
Our dentists perform an oral cancer screening examination of your mouth during routine dental check-ups.  The dentist will carefully examine the inside of your mouth to check for any suspicious red or white patches or mouth sores.  We also utilize painless “brush” biopsy procedures in some cases to evaluate unusual tissue changes.

Fluoride
Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by making the tooth stronger against acidic foods and drinks that form plaque bacteria in the mouth.  Ask how fluoride treatments can be incorporated into your preventive treatment.

Emergency Dental Care
Our highly skilled dental professionals understand that even with the best maintenance programs emergencies come up.  Here at Family Dentistry at CIC our team makes every effort to see emergencies right away and offer same day care whenever possible.
